Brainy Bill
is one of the black and white, 8.5" x 11" characters used in Lesson 1. Each of
the four characters are printed card stock and laminated for multiple handlings. Brainy Bill and his cohorts are the people who think they don't need soil,
nor do they need to be concerned about it.
Other items in the kit are shown below and many items are laminated
for long-term usage.

A two-ring flip chart is used
in Lesson 4 and is used to teach methods for combating soil erosion. The laminated, hand
drawn flip chart is twelve pages long in an 11" x 8.5" format. Each page is
scripted for the teacher on the back. |

Gritty is shown at left.
Gritty is a sand-paper covered, 11" x 8.5" caricature of a soil type. Sticky and
Smoothy are equally sized caricatures with surfaces representing their soil types. Other
items included in kit are 13" tall, colored and laminated letters S-O-I-L for word
association. |
